The RXP-2025DH is a premium performance x-ray inspection system capable of inspecting a wide range of products and detecting a variety of miniscule contaminants. In addition to catching all metals (both fragment and wire), the RXP-2025DH will find glass, hard plastic and rubber, ceramic, bone, and other high-density contaminants down to 0.3mm in size.
The RXP-2025DH is specifically designed for the inspection of jarred, bottled and canned products, as its unique dual beam inspection technology provides superior detection for all product areas. Multi-aspect inspection further enhances the success rate of contaminant detection, regardless of the contaminant’s orientation in the product. Whereas other x-ray systems might miss a foreign body if it is hidden behind packaging or up against the side or bottom of the product, the RXP-2025DH dual-beam uses two separate generators and detectors to produce two distinct inspection images for each individual product. This unique approach to inspection allows this system to ensure no foreign material has made its way into the product, giving you the confidence of knowing your customers and reputation is being protected.
For cans and tubs, the RXP-2025DH dual-beam x-ray employs a pair of detectors to provide two separate perspectives of the product, allowing for complete inspection of even the smallest contaminants. While products packaged in metal cans may be tricky for other x-ray inspection equipment, the RXP-2025DH dual-beam x-ray has been developed to target and overcome every issue that other systems encounter. Combined with fully integrated side transfers, infeed/outfeed conveyor sections, and an automatic reject, the RXP-2025DH has had every aspect designed with the beverage and canned/jarred food process in mind.
If you’ve used x-ray inspection equipment before, you’ve likely experienced a situation where a certain foreign body can only be detected when it’s positioned a certain way inside of your product. Using only a single generator and detector to inspect a product provides only one perspective, and for some packaging types, leaves the possibility of a contaminant sneaking through undetected.
Thankfully, TDI Packsys has eliminated this risk with the RXP-2025DH dual-beam x-ray inspection system. Rather than relying on a single perspective for inspection, the dual-beam system utilizes two separate sets of generators and detectors to provide superior, multi-aspect inspection. Each generator and detector set is oriented to view the product from a 90° offset and give you a full, complete look inside even the densest packaging.
Foreign material that is asymmetrical or flushed against the side of your package might make it past a standard x-ray system, but with the redundant double inspection of the RXP-2025DH x-ray, there is no blind spot in which a contaminant can hide.
Each of our X-ray systems come with the training, service and support your staff needs — TDI Packsys is with you every step of the way to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Additionally, TDI Packsys provides annual testing, certification and maintains FDA registration to ensure your system remains in complete and continual compliance with all applicable regulations.
All X-ray inspection systems use componentry from global market leaders, including VJT, Siemens and Schneider. Each unit is constructed of 304 stainless steel with a stunning mirror finish (optional sand-blasted finish available). X-ray inspection systems from TDI Packsys can be used in virtually any environment, and all areas are rated for full wash down with our IP69K option.
TDI Packsys offers the most precise x-ray inspection systems on the market. When your application requires an exceptional level of metal detection sensitivity, or the ability to detect non-metallic contaminants such as bone, stone or even glass, then pharmaceutical or food x-ray inspection equipment is a necessity.
TDI Packsys offers a wide variety of systems that deliver best-in-class performance at a tremendous value. No other provider can match the level of safety and quality of inspection systems that TDI Packsys delivers. Our machines also provide a higher level of quality and performance features, such as unique triple-beam x-ray detection, for incredibly precise three-dimensional inspection.
If you are interested in seeing the superior performance of x-ray inspection systems from TDI Packsys, we offer free, no-obligation validation testing of your exact products and any contaminant samples you would like tested, in addition to our standard certified contaminant sample set. We simulate your exact production conditions and will provide photos, videos, and a formal report on the sensitivities you would be able to achieve with a TDI Packsys x-ray. Reach out today to get your validation test scheduled and see the real difference of TDI Packsys x-rays.
X-ray inspection systems work by producing beams of high frequency electromagnetic radiation (x-rays) in a generator. These beams are then directed at a desired target, which will absorb some of the rays while allowing others to pass through. On the opposite side of the target from the generator sits a detector which then reads the EM waves that make it through the target.
The higher the density/larger the size of the product, the less radiation will pass through. The result is an image produced by the detector which details the high and low density areas throughout the target. This is the same principle seen when making shadow puppets on a wall. Some light is blocked by the puppet, and the resulting shadow gives detail on the shape of the puppet. With x-rays, that detail is also internal.
The main difference between metal detectors and x-ray inspection systems is in the methodology of how each machine inspects for foreign materials. Metal detection relies on conductivity to locate stainless, ferrous and non-ferrous metals in product, while x-ray uses density differences between the product and foreign bodies to perform inspection. X-ray technology allows for a far greater range of foreign materials to be detected, including metal, glass, stone, bone, rubber, gasket (both metal detectable and non-metal detectable), plastic, and various other mid and high-density items. As a general rule of thumb, x-ray inspection systems are able to detect contaminants at a much smaller size than metal detectors.
Some products are limited by their composition and packaging with which inspection systems can be used. Products with metallic packaging, such as those with metallized foil, cannot be accurately inspected with a metal detector, and require the use of an x-ray system. The best way to determine which option is best for your application is to receive a consultation or free, no-obligation validation testing. We can test your exact product on a variety of different systems using certified test cards, or foreign material samples you provide, to offer you a formal report on the capabilities and expected performance of each type of technology. At TDI Packsys, we believe validation testing on your specific products is an integral step in choosing the right system for your needs.
No PPE is required to be worn while operating x-ray inspection systems from TDI Packsys. The use of lead lining and protective curtains in the x-ray mitigates radiation from the generator, allowing only a fraction of the radiation used in inspection to exit the system. The FDA regulates these systems, and has set a standard of 5 μSv/hour as the safe level of radiation. X-ray systems from TDI Packsys emit doses of less than 1 μSv an hour, well below the FDA allowable limit. Every day, we are exposed to background radiation naturally produced by the sun and various environmental factors. Each year, the average person is exposed to 2,400 μSv of this background radiation, a higher dose than you would get standing next to an active x-ray inspection system for more than 3 months straight.
